The Early 2000’s Movies

If you have seen movies such as Legally Blonde, Bring It On, Mean Girl, Clueless, and White Chicks, then you’re going to want to stick around. Movies are a really important part of Pop Culture. Most of these movies have shaped generations and teens. Many kids and teenagers today still watch these movies.

Elle Woods wants nothing more than to be Mrs. Warner Huntington III. The only thing stopping him: She is too blonde. Elle gets many resources together and get into Harvard Law School in hopes to win him back. Legally Blonde is an uplifting movie, it challenges stereotypes and sexism. It also serves as an inspiration for many women to go for their dreams.

This is the classic ‘Bend & Snap’. A extending of the legs, bending over to pick something up and ‘snapping’ quickly up at the end. This is a star point in this movie. Let’s see your best Bend and Snap! This movie also inspired a movie starring twins Rebecca and Camila Rosso. Reese. Witherspoon was one of the producers on his movie as well. It is a high school version of Legally blonde. It is called ‘Legally Blondes.”

They’ve got spirit, spunk, sass and a killer routine. The Toro cheerleading squad from Rancho Carne High School in San Diego is hoping this killer routine will land them the national championship trophy for the sixth year in a row. The new team captain, Torrance, just found out that their perfectly-choreographed routines were stolen from the East Compton Clovers. She nope has to guide them on a new path and hope to win the championship. Bring It On has earned a whopping worldwide gross income of $90 million. It has become a cult classic since its release.

The video above is one of the most memorable routines from the movie. That is a living legend, if you haven’t seen it, you gotta check out the whole movie! This movie is a cult classic and has also inspired Halloween costumes and party themes.

Teenage Cady Heron was educated in Africa by her scientist parents. When her family moves to the suburbs of Illinois, Cady finally gets to experience public school and gets a quick primer on the cruel, tacit laws of popularity that divide her fellow students into tightly knit cliques. She unwittingly finds herself in the good graces of an elite group of cool students dubbed “the Plastics,” but Cady soon realizes how her shallow group of new friends earned this nickname.

This video is compiled with all the best scenes as well as the quotes we all know and love. To prove this movie is a cult classic, take a look at Ariana Grande’s Music video for her song ‘Thank You, Next.” It proves what an effect this movie had. She has used many scenes from the movie to portray her song. Ariana also portrays Legally Blonde and Bring It On in this video as well! It’s the whole package.

Ugh, AS IF! Shallow, rich and socially successful Cher is at the top of her Beverly Hills high school’s pecking scale. Seeing herself as a matchmaker, Cher first tricks two teachers into dating each other. Taken back by her success, she decides to give hopelessly klutzy new student Tai a makeover. When Tai becomes more popular than she is, Cher realizes that her disapproving ex-step brother was right about how misguided she was, and falls for him.

This is a personal favorite scene of mine! This movie has become a huge part of our culture today, especially that lovely yellow outfit Cher wears. This movie was also an inspiration for the artist Iggy Azalea with her song “Fancy ft. Charli XCX.” You notice the same outfit as well as the same scenes. Take a look!

Two FBI agent brothers, Marcus and Kevin Copeland, accidentally foil a drug bust. As punishment, they are forced to escort a pair of socialites to the Hamptons, where they’re going to be used as bait for a kidnapper. But when the girls realize the FBI’s plan, they refuse to go. Left without options, Marcus and Kevin decide to pose as the sisters, transforming themselves from African-American men into a pair of blonde, white women. White Chicks is a fan favorite.

This scene is the iconic ‘Bitch Fit’. This scene has been recreated through tik tok and YouTube videos countless times. This is the scene associated with the movie whenever anyone talks about it. It is a movie that is a classic and always will be.

These movies are classics, and you see the scenes being recreated, or even used as YouTube video ideas. These movies also drove the fashion it is today, a lot of early 2000’s style is starting to show back up. Without these movies, pop culture would not be what it is today.
